The space

The home sits behind a private gate on two secluded acres, surrounded by English gardens, fruit trees and lawn. Whether you’re planning a family vacation or a getaway with friends, it brings together privacy, garden charm and plenty of outdoor fun. The home: Everything is on one level. The renovated interior is light and calm, with wide-plank floors, black-framed windows looking onto the gardens, and two gas fireplaces. The living room has a large sectional with a pull-out bed, a smart TV and built-in shelving, and opens to the dining room. Kitchen and dining: The kitchen has quartz counters, a large peninsula with bar seating, stainless appliances including a double wall oven and gas range, and a separate coffee and wine bar with open shelving. A breakfast nook with swivel leather chairs sits beside the fireplace and garden doors. There is a separate dining room with a farmhouse table. Where you'll sleep: Primary suite: four-poster king bed, reading chair, garden views on two sides, and an en-suite bath with a walk-in tiled shower. Bedroom 2: queen bed with upholstered headboard, smart TV. Bedroom 3: queen bed, smart TV, dresser. Bedroom 4: queen bed, smart TV, lounge chair. Living room: sectional with a pull-out bed. Bathrooms: Three full baths, all remodeled with tiled walk-in showers. Gardens: The grounds are what make this place. Clipped boxwood parterres frame a lily pond and lead to a pergola set on stone columns, with a chandelier overhead and a long table that seats the whole group. Smaller bistro tables are tucked among the fruit trees, which bloom in spring, and lit paths wind through the plantings in the evening. Sound system: A whole-property sound system runs through the house, the back garden, the pool area and the sports court. Connect your phone and play music anywhere on the grounds. Pool, hot tub and lounges: Spend your days by the private heated pool, lined with chaise lounges. Next to it, a timber pergola with string lights covers a lounge set around a fire pit. A hot tub sits on the lawn with a view back to the house. Sports court: A resurfaced, lit court is striped for tennis and pickleball and has a full basketball hoop. Beside it, a second covered patio has an outdoor dining table, a fire pit lounge and a gas grill.

Guest access

Guests have the entire home and grounds to themselves, including the pool, hot tub, gardens and sports court. Self check-in through the driveway gate and a keypad front door.

The neighborhood

The home is on Arnold Drive between Glen Ellen and the town of Sonoma, in the heart of Sonoma Valley. Valley of the Moon Winery, Sonoma Golf Club, Sonoma Valley Regional Park and Jack London State Historic Park are all close by, and both Glen Ellen's small village of restaurants and tasting rooms and Sonoma Plaza are an easy drive.

Other things to note

No dogs or pets of any kind. No events or parties. Maximum 10 guests. Quiet hours are 10pm–7am. Please turn off the outdoor speakers and keep voices low outside during these hours. No glass in the pool or hot tub area. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times around the pool and hot tub. The pool is not fenced. The landscaper and pool service are on site Mondays. When entering the front door code, pull the door toward you. The home is on a septic system: please flush only toilet paper. Sonoma County TOT # 4714

Interaction with guests:

The Kohmsa team is local and available by message throughout the stay. Our landscaper and pool technician visit on Mondays; they work around guests and only need access to the grounds.
